This thread is from 2016 but it's good to know that.

    No sunlight

There's no reason that they need to stay inside for so long, they can move into a cooler place or outside right now with their heat plate.

Things you wish you could say

Just gonna say that I'm so very thankful that byc is patroned by rational, respectful and intelligent people, who have common sense and can moderate themselves (for the most part), for mods that will bring out the whoop stick when they have to and that we can maintain an open forum as peers for...

I've missed lunch the past two days because it's the week before inventory, the people scheduled has to be light since we have 4 extra managers in to organize beforehand (i.e move stuff from one side of the property to the other for some unknown reason) but they're not a part of the useable...

    And now the other one.

Who suggested she was a turkey?? Unfortunately, it's too early to say yet, if she starts getting little top knot feathers, you'll know for sure.

Anyone know what breeds these are? Thanks!

The gray and brown hens appear to be cochin silkie mixes, the boy, I'm not sure but he's a dandy and the orange and white is a cochin.

What do you call this type of coloring on an ameraucana?

Patridge, though she's likely a well-bred Easter eggers since she has yellow eyes. Real Ameracauna have dark eyes.

    Best foods? Bedding? Basking? Harvesting?

Hi, I'd get some white grow light for fill spectrum winter lights. Do they have any type of covered run? I'dreccomend to get an flock feed, I like nutrena. You don't want to give them to much extra fatty treats, chicken store fat around their organs and too much fat causes health issues and death.

    Prozap Dust Help

Not safe for cats but as long as the cats aren't licking the birds, it's not really an issue. Poor the dust in an old sock and "Bop" them all over with it.

Hi I'm a newby with a big problem...

The first attack is always the hardest, I'm sorry. Since they weren't secured on your property, you may or may not be able to ask for anything except payment of the birds, about $30 each. Remember to stay calm, kind and reasonable.

Plymouth Barred Rock hen or roo?

That's a lot of white for a female barring. Properly bred barred Plymouth rocks, are odd to be sold straight run because it should be obvious at hatch what the gender is.
