Worried that I may have killed a chick that is very close to hatching.....
Sometimes they pip in the wrong end of the egg. You said that the crack went around the egg, which does not sound like a pip hole.- HonkABC

Is this a double yolker?
Most likely, it is not. Its body is a bit long at this stage, and the yolk may hide part of it, only exposing the head and tail. The tail may resemble another head with an eye. If you candled earlier, how many embryos did you see?- HonkABC
