My wife's grandma has this chicken. She says she's an ameraucana and she does lay blue eggs, but we don't know what you call this coloring. I think the patterns are so pretty. I'd like to know what it's called so if I wanted to find one I could search.

She is beautiful. She almost looks like an ameracauna crossed with a dark Brahma. Some breeders cross Ameracaunas with different brown egg laying breeds and call them "Americanas". I have four that are gray Ameracauna crossed w Black Copper Marans. Three of them lay a seafoam green colored egg, and one lays a dark brown egg, pics below. I also attached a pic of my dark Brahma, Bunny, to show you the markings that look similar to your girl:)

Thank you! The Americanas are really delightful little hens. Super fun personalities and great egg layers, I would recommend them to anyone as great additions to any flock!
I agree. I used to have mostly Americanas and loved them. I also had some fun Polish bantams. I had a 10 year gap of not having chickens and restarted again 2 years ago. Now I have a mix including several EE and a few Americanas as well as Brahmas, Cinnamon queens, Sapphire Gems etc.
