I don't know a ton. They are raising money to pay for the funeral expenses of a cousin that died unexpectedly at 34 years old. Contact Michelle for more details.
Hey everybody. There is a charity raffle taking place on October 15th. Tickets are $2 each. I have donated the following prize:
One dozen hatching eggs... A mix of the winners choice from the following types: easter egger, olive egger, super blue egg layer, welsummer, crested cream legbar...
I currently have hatching eggs for olive eggers, easter eggers, super blue egg layers, and barnyard mixes. I also have some leghorn/bresse mix sex links. They would be white chicks that could be sexed with ease at a few weeks old. These eggs are laid at high altitude, which means they can be...
Hi Brian. I sent you a pm, but in case that doesn't go through properly, I'm interested in 18-24 welsummer hatching eggs. I'll pay express shipping, and am ready to PayPal you whenever you can send them. So excited to finally be working towards more welsummers.
I have a several chicks I'd like help sexing. The first two are welsummer mixed with a red and white unknown origin roo. The third one is from my black star covered by the same unknown origin rooster. They are 2 months old. Their behavior makes me think roos, but their combs are all pretty small...
Here are some updated pictures.... this bird is still not helping me decide what it is!
No play fighting like some other birds, but by far the biggest of them all.
Comb small and yellow.
But look at those pointy tail feathers!
Opinions ?
Can you tell me more about this medical grade soda lime? Does or go in the water channels? I'm planning to hatch expensive shipped eggs at high altitude and don't want to kill them all.
I say get what you want, even if you have to have them 2 or 3 weeks apart in age. I couldn't find blr wyandottes but I wanted them. I hatched some of my own chicks for fun. Then a local person put a couple month old BLR's up for sale. I got them, divided the brooder for several days, and put...
Thank you! Yes, they are out of the incubator! 6 hatched Thursday and 4 hatched Friday. The last one out seems pretty weak and was covered with sticky stuff. I think it must have busted the yolk inside the egg during it's exit attempts. I finally helped it. I hope it'll pull thru. Another one...
I have a question. One of my 24 hour old chicks is pooping a very green substance. It has had virtually nothing to eat (they're still figuring that out) and in fact, pooped green for the first time while still in the incubator. It is acting normal. Should I be concerned? Should I keep it...
I love hatching! It never gets old. I feel like there's so much personality in these chicks before they're even out of the eggs. Love this photo:
And this one: "are you just going to stand there and watch me or help me out of here?
Here are the 6 that made it out today.
I love the idea of imprinting! I'm going to have to try it! Sounds like it might be too late for some of my chicks. It's got to be the first 24 hours? Cute duckling!!!
I saw you had a pip last post but couldn't quote it for some dumb reason. Hoping for the best for you! I had a bunch die really...
From what I understand, it has to be the hen that is barred to create the sex links. You'll probably get some super cute babies, but I wouldn't plan to sex them at hatch with that pairing. :)
