Oh, Mom! I'm so sorry to hear that....
I have seen threads around here where people didn't want to "harm" their terrible rooster so they would "put it up for adoption"... knowing full well the rooster was vicious.
I hope that was not the case, but I'm just wondering...
Is everyone okay...

Don't you just hate it when you go out of your way to help someone and they say something stupid like "go away" and then later they have to suffer? IDK about you, but there is a smug satisfaction about seeing someone get a kick in the tail because they didn't listen to me!
I'm glad...
...hydrometer - it still does dip. IDK, though.
The one you have is precious! Is this your first hatch? I only had 2 hatch out last week and I *love* it... I can't wait to do it again. I"m just going to have to wait until the thing with my neighbor blows over, just to make sure I don't...
A sudden drop in humidity (when the incubator was opened to slide the towel in) would cause the memebrane around the baby chick to "shrink wrap" it... and would cause it to die. Maybe it was just resting, though.
I only say this, because I had it happen with the chickens I hatched out a...
OOPS! I didn't realize there was that specific information in that e-mail.. I've got to edit that. I wouldn't want someone tracking this guy down and starting a riot for that nasty language he was using.....
Thank you for reading the whole thread I'm sure it took a long time! Also, I...

What a great idea!!!!!!!!
Hey, that is a great idea for a thread! I wonder what section "Give me your trashy yard ideas" would go under!
Lickskillet, I hope everything works out with your family. We really need to start a "crazy neighbors" club!
...if he does cause trouble for me. LOL...
Everyone's concern is overwhelming and I'm blessed to be part of a community like this. You guys are great... and hilarious... I needed the laughs I've gotten off of this thread. (Even the not so *nice* ideas I thought were pretty funny!) Thanks.
...stubborn to put a cover on the run and eventually they didn't have chickens anymore.
I'd probably try to find out what was getting the chickens *and* have a secure area for them before I got any more. Even though some people see them as "just chickens" they still need to protected as...

You bring up a great point. Since he crowned himself "king of the neighborhood" and started enforcing his rules, he's made quite a few enemies... I don't think they'd mind if I put up an eyesore for a while...

I agree. He has enough time to do the work himself and although I've not told him personally his wife is fully aware of the avenues I went to make sure I could have them. She even helped me out and knows 1st hand that I can have them. I don't know if she's said anything to him about...

Yeah... I've been contemplating some pretty passive/aggressive scenarios today. I thought about doing that... it seems like a good idea, but I do have other neighbors and I don't want them to get upset.
However, I'm not opposed my back yard (where the rest of the neighborhood can't...
...I came inside from a long day dealing with kids and chickens and the rest of life's necessities and read. I thought, "Hey, it's a message from *neighbor*, maybe he found a good yardsale today!" and then...
I think you're very right about the "Christian" issue. It seems to me that he...
I hate that this happend to you. It is terrible to have something happen like that between neighbors, too.
I commend you for trying to be helpful even after their dog massacred your chickens. That was being "neighborly". They had to learn a very hard lesson today about pet ownership and...
I just wish your welcome didn't have to be here... about this.
I'm sorry to hear about your chickens. I'm not sure, but it sounds like something from the air is getting them. Maybe an owl or other large bird of prey. Maybe you could keep a look-out or find a way to keep them contained...
...I'm just going to document and keep my guard up.
BTW, there is no rat problem, and the fleas are there just because it is a yard - I have never *seen* one, but I know my dog picks up the occasional few while she is taking care of business. I've seen rats in the area, but that was before...
Chickens think yellowjackets are yummy! Just another reason to get chickens!
Here is a website that gives a lot of useful information about how to get rid of yellowjackets:

Good Luck!
...able to use bullying as a means to an end. I'm not backing down because I think he needs to learn a few lessons. #1: don't make enemies out of *ALL* of your neighbors. Up until yesterday, I was the only neighbor that was friendly to them (him). I was ignoring what he was doing to everyone...
