omg.... i took some treats and she came out and stared chasing the other duck... and made this noise like a hiccup, is she going to go all aggressive? how long will it be like that? is it the same like with chickens, should i give her some fertile eggs and move her to another place? or will she...
She is still laying. i'm sure 'cause her eggs are different from the "pekin" ones, and i pick them up every day..... But i guess she could stop laying any time.
Muscovy experts :) i found my duck Rico in this attitude today..... Does it mean something? The other duck is a pekin and has never even try to make a nest, actually she just leaves the eggs in the middle of the yard....
^.^ Hello!!! Hope you'r having a wanderfull day!!
Im really hoping for girls, they are 3, i think 8 weeks old, 1 is lemon c orpington and the other 2 are blue laced red wyandotte... or at least that's what they should be.
here some really bad pictures from my phone.
1-looking at itself...
well i seriously don't know, that's why I'm asking , and they look so different i thought maybe that was what people look for when sexing by feathers instead of venting
OK I end up with 5 chicks of 12 shipped eggs, the remaining 7 where quitters. And found an unmarked egg that's in the incubator right now, I'm guessing my hen's, so not completely sure how old it is, but i knock in the shell and it answer so I'm waiting for him to hatch. My roo's name is lucky...
the other breeds are
-sliver laced wyadotte
-lemon c orpingtons
-white silkie
(and 1 egg of the proud hen mother that would be a cross of withe leghorn(roo) and american game(hen), but im almost sure i saw that one egg still unhatched)
please do not stop your conversation for me, but i just wanted to jump in the thread to share pic of my new chicks (still hatching)
I have 4 different breeds under my broody, but I think this 3 are BLRW.... what do you guys think???
It's my first hatch ever so i'm almost as...
it's just the roo, i have a cage i can put him in so i don't bother my broody.... he is usually a gentleman but i guess he can also be an a**h** when I'm not looking. and I'm assuming since she already somehow got some blood on the head now is for sure he will pick her if i don't separate him...
