Some say ..faster feathering is an indication of female. I say it is a female..and I am usually 50% correct.
 
Fast vs. slow feathering can be a sex-linked trait in the first generation, but not the second. So you really need to know how they were bred to know for sure. Just like sex-links bred together do not produce more sex-links, it is the same with fast vs.slow feathering. So, you can make an educated guess that a faster feathering chick might be a female, but if you do not know the background it is no different than guessing based on posture, or leg/foot size, or whatever.

I hope your right I only got two chicks out of my last hatch and both have the cutest little feathers. I love the 50% correct - forgive me but I might borrow that on occasion.

Sexing chicks at a young age is hard. On my part it is just a guess. I try to add a bit of humor. I can never sex my own. If they lay an egg, I usually guess its a girl.
That is funny. Now I call all the chicks "she" just in case trying to not to jinix it. Humor is the spice of life :-)
