Undereye Ticks on Duck - W/ PICS

Alright, I bought the 10% permethrin, diluted it and applied it with a q-tip to the ticks. Hopefully it'll take care of most of them.

Undereye Ticks on Duck - W/ PICS

Thank you for replying. Since it's a spray, will it be harmful if it gets in her eye? If not, could you maybe recommend somewhere good to buy it from?

Undereye Ticks on Duck - W/ PICS

They are definitely ticks, I managed to remove a couple and there's no doubt. I live in central Florida, near Tampa.

Undereye Ticks on Duck - W/ PICS

When I let the ducks out this morning I noticed something weird about one of their eyes. Turns out she has clusters of ticks around her eyes. I have had this happen before, but there were only a few that I was able to pick off with my fingers. From most of the posts I see on ducks and ticks...

    The Duck Thread

Hi everyone! We just got a rescue duck today from a friend of a friend of a friend and we know almost nothing about it, but from looks and the fact it was found wild makes us think she's a mallard (we don't know gender yet so we're just saying she/her for the time being) She has the mallard...

HELP! Ducks laying thin-shelled/shell-less eggs - 1 death

So we have been having a problem with our ducks laying soft, thin-shelled or shell-less eggs, and we often find them broken or crushed in the coop in the morning when we let them out. We bought oyster shell to sprinkle in their regular layer feed and have been doing so for a few weeks, but their...

Listless duck - what to do?

One of our ducks , Saffron , has not been herself lately. She got very broody and made a nest in the bushes , but we kept collecting the eggs so her broodiness faded away. Now , she hangs behind the group , her wings are droopy , she won't eat or drink unless she's with other ducks and even that...

    PARALYZED DUCK-HELP!

I've looked at more botulism sites , and it seems to be exactly what she has.I don't know how to treat it , Holderread says to clear her esophagus with a funnel and tube down her throat , but I don't know how to do that safely , so I'm not very comfortable with it.

    PARALYZED DUCK-HELP!

    PARALYZED DUCK-HELP!

    The Duck Thread

    The Duck Thread

Framing on the coop is done , and boy this thing is huge!It could fit three times the ducks we are going to put in it , but it seemed more economical to keep it close to standard lumber sizes , so we have LOTS of room to grow ;) I am so in love with my babies , except for one small thing:they...

    The Duck Thread

Oh yes , they have been swimming supervised since yesterday.I made sure the water I put in their pan was the temperature of bathwater , and they only swam for 25 minutes tops. After that , they all got out and started preening. We do have a kiddie pool , but it's the large size(5ft round 12in...
