The kids had diffrent names for them everytime they called them, exept for the smaller white one, my daughter always called her Mama.
and as soon as they heard my son make a Clicking sound with his tongue they would come running to him for a treat no matter where they were.

Chickie'sMoma,
below is a link to some info I got last year from Dick about the Fav's you got.
I think it was the larger white that layed the egg, she was in the nesting box before we left the house yesterday.

I will be selling my Favoralles in the next couple of months or sooner, they are about 1 1/2 yrs old.
they are all Hens, 2 white, 1 black and 2 blue (one of the blues has wadles not a beard)
these birds were culls from Dick's Flock.
I'm in RI I would like pick up or delivery when the time...
I don't think its mites, I checked them this morning for any sign of mites, as as I was doing that, the sexlinks walked right upto one of the Fav's and started pecking at her...
I hate to get rid of her (she lays huge eggs) and she is the Oldest out of the bunch, also I have no were to seperate...
I've got a quick question,
My Red Sexlinks desided she didn't like the beards on the Favoralles, so I caught her plucking them out of all of 5 of the Favoralls..
will they grow back after they molt? I have had them for over a year now, and It hard to see them missing the Beards.... ( they do...
They will eat anything, even styrofome coolers .
I don't think changing there diet will hurt them one bit, its in their nature to be scavengers, they will adjust to anything you feed them, or they feel like eaing.
Chickes LOVE Gardens, they will eat it up.. I use the Fence to Keep then out of the garden, flower beds (mine love Tulips and Roses)
I would do like "KBlue" said "Set up a compost pile for the manure so you can still reap that benefit!"
I have a Broody Hen, we Have no Roosters so we have no fertle eggs, she has been this way for about 2 1/2 weeks.. ans she is insisting on hatching somthing.
if I put a few chicks under her at night or somthing , will she kill them or raise them? will that help her get out of the nesting box...
when talking to the zoning board, you have chickens strictly for Pets.
also when talking to the neighbors tell them you are thinking of getting a few Pet chickens for the kids.
in my town they will allow them strictly for pets not to raise in a resadental area, I don't know what the diffrence...
