I only worry if it's an issue. She's definitely the lowest on the totem pole by far, but she's energetic, spunky, and hasn't shown any issues. Neither has Bertha with the bulbous butt. Everything has gone well so far, hope it continues! Thanks for the replies everyone
Yes, thank you. Everyone has meshed together well so far, they dont pick on her or peck at her bulge. These are from animal services, so basically getting a second chance at life now. Especially the australorp, I'm making sure she gets food, water, and a bit of attention. We have only one young...
I dont know her full story. As far as I know, she had a clean bill of health before we got her. I gave her rump a warm bath today. Dont know if that did anything. She still seems normal/fine, is not being bothered or pecked at by the others, and is not even the lowest in the peckin order. That...
Thanks everyone, I assumed barred for the first, but that's cool that she isnt! She hasnt had any other symptoms so far, but I'll start givin her some warm baths to see if that's the issue and she is egg bound
#2 is probably australorp, couldnt remember. I'll get more pictures and post them

We just got 3 more in! All of them are quite tame, even more so big bertha and the orange sherbet one. All seem happy, at least one has already started laying again. Not sure which yet.
I know which breed Bertha is, but I'm not sure what's going on with her rump. She doesnt seem to be in any...
My very limited experience, typically return to their favorite spot in the coop to lay. But if it's blocked off or not how they want it to be, they might find/make another spot
Ive seen some get really picky though. Sometimes they all choose a favorite spot, and the rest fight over it all the time. As long as they have options, they typically sort themselves out
I think that goes for each chick as well, at least somewhat. I spent hours every day for a very long time trying to get two Speckled Sussex to trust me. Eventually they did and warmed up to me. The one that's left doesnt get too close to me anymore. I dont know if its because he's the only one...
This chick has been surprisingly friendly. I've spent very little time with her compared with the others, but she always seems happy to see me and perch on my arm/shoulder. When she was younger, I figured she was a BO, but now I'm not so sure. What say you, experienced experts?
She is the...
Well it took 2.5 hours, but it made it out!! I'm guessing this one is male with a bigger beak, and because you cant tell this early anyways. Ended up recording the entire hatching process. Maybe one day it will become a time lapse movie
The initial hole was much smaller, I only opened further after not seeing any progress for 24h. I keep it hydrated and sealed when not checking on it. I try to be as hands off as I can, but if I suspect something, I intervene. Still fairly new to this, and I imagine you're right FortCluck...
