I have one little Spanish Rosecomb roo who tries to crow-- but it sounds more like a toddler whining. I'm in a no rooster zone too... Luckily we placed our coop and pen next to the house that has been unoccupied for over a year. Whew!
I notice that raccoons tend to come out when it's overcast or rainy here in Idaho... I can't say for sure what got to them-- but I am so sorry for your loss!
The whole situation is just--- so overwhelming. It's hard to try to wrap one's brain around all the effects this situation will have on wildlife that we don't even know about yet.
I might think about getting an older dog who is not as interested in doing too much chasing and romping about. You may even try looking up some dog breed information sights and see which dogs are prone to chasing?
Good luck!
Hi! :frowYou might try looking up your local sustainable living/locavore group sites. They may have some literature or an advocate with can help with your situation. Good luck and I'm sending you good juju! Your neighbor should be ashamed of themselves for being such a uptight---
:fl
I'm not sure of the ramifications. .. but I got advice to give red pepper flakes mixed in with the feed. I tried it and two days later my e.e. was laying again
