A conversation I had with a friend of mine the other day:
Me: "Yeah my chicken ate a huge cricket the other day--"
Friend: "That's so cruel! Chickens are supposed to be vegan"
Me: "....."
Hi everyone,
I used to buy chicks from a hatchery called Efowl. I had good experiences with them in the past but I'm surprised to see some Bycers have had difficulties with them in more relatively recent years (2014-2016). I always used to get spring chick orders from them in the late...
Hi,
I called freedom ranger that day and they said they had a minimum of 15 ducklings and that's just too many ducks for my backyard setup. I ended up getting some grown females from a local breeder in my area.
I would love to have a small flock of 6 Icelandic (also known as "Viking Chickens") some day. They come in a wide variety of colors and are an ancient and rare breed.
Hi everyone, I recently picked up some salmon colored faverolle from my local feed store. I never raised this breed before and I was wondering how good their egg production is. I quickly researched and saw it ranges from 180-240 eggs a year. How was everyone's experience of owning faverolle? Is...

I used to be a duck head when I got into this hobby but within the last few years I made the great leap with chickens :). I gave my call duck flock to a friend of mine and I visit him and his flock every once in a while.
I love Maran's although I never owned them, their eggs are gorgeous! Just out of curiosity why didn't your Maran breeder flock not work out? I want to someday start a breeder flock for my future brahmas and would love to hear advice from people who had experience.
She's gorgeous!! I can't wait to get my brahmas this spring, I've never had this breed before. Looking at everyone's photos and descriptions though I am so excited to finally have them.
Hi all, I placed an order for 3 brahmas from Meyer Hatchery and I was wondering if anyone has bought their brahmas from them to. If so, please give me your experience with Meyer's Brahma stock (some pictures of your hens/roos would be much appreciated), thank you!!
