Mice In The House! Can I feed 'em to my chickens?

If I was seriously trying to get rid of mice I would look into getting a Jack Russel or other ratter. But then they might go after the chickens.....

Mice In The House! Can I feed 'em to my chickens?

My chickens would chase down and eat mice.

    Dairy cows

Just a comment. If you find you have too much milk you can raise calves on them. I did that. I would market the calves at just under 300 pounds. I made money doing that and it solved the surplus milk problem. Pigs are another option and pigs can consume a lot of milk. Milk fed pork is delicious.

    Air sac determines sex.

I am sure it is accurate 50% of the time. If that worked, commercial hatcheries would be using it. That said, I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Is all hay the same? Guinea pig hay vs horse hay

Just a comment. I have known a lot of people, me included, that fed their horses exclusively on alfalfa because that was what was available in their area. There were no health issues.

    On the intelligence of livestock

As a matter of fact, there are some fish that can climb trees. Just had to throw that in.

Anyone with cat litter allergy experience?

Just a comment. Pretty Litter is neither dusty nor smelly. No deodorizer or scent is added because it isn't needed. I like it because the litter box has virtually no odor and I no longer need to deal with heavy bags of clay litter.

Anyone with cat litter allergy experience?

I use Pretty Litter. Unlike clay litter it is light and virtually odorless. You scoop out and flush the dry poop every day and stir the litter. You dump it and put in clean litter once a month. A bag is about the same weight as a bag of sugar, and it lasts all month for one cat. I would never...

    Show sheep

Go to your local farm advisor's office. They will have information on 4H sheep projects. The 4H publications should have all the information you need.

    Dog Food

I fed my dogs a good quality kibble free choice. I am not a fan of raw food because of possible bacterial contamination, such as salmonella. If you are going to mix your own food, make sure it is balanced and has all the needed nutrients.

Misinformation about keeping chickens in Glendale

Find the local library and go there and look up the regulations yourself. Call any lawyer's office and they can tell you where the law library is. I have found that what an official tells me what the law is and what the law actually is are often not the same thing. I have also found that the...

How do I help my pet CornishX lose weight?!?!

I shouldn't comment. You will not like what I am going to say. I happen to like the temperament of Cornish X chickens. They are funny and quirky and a lot of fun to have around. They have wonderful personalities, but they are not suitable as pets because of their short lifespan. It is true...

    Cornish cross hatching eggs?

There is that. My neighbor in Missouri had a good small business hatching eggs for people. I have no idea what he charged.

    Cornish cross hatching eggs?

Buying Cornish X hatching eggs is really not cost effective. You are better off to just buy chicks.

What breed do you recommend to live outside in a fenced yard and protect chickens?

The coyote was on the property. I really don't think the dog cared why the coyote was there. He just wanted him gone. In the end it doesn't matter.

What breed do you recommend to live outside in a fenced yard and protect chickens?

The LGDs will guard the property. The chickens contained therein will be guarded by extension.

    Good for housing goats?

My vet told me that while sheep (and other animals) will blunder into trouble, goats seek it out.
