    I there is no wheezing, sneezing, coughing or head-shaking and her eyes are clear and not puffed up and she is alert and no longer lethargic, I'd say she's over the worst. Enjoy her, she is pretty.

    To me it seems like she is suffering from a respiratory infection. I am not a fan of using antibiotics without a proper diagnosis, but if not treated she most likely will not make it. I would start a 5 day course of Amoxicillin.

    Regardless, I've yet to see a hen allow a cock to mate, they always try to escape, which inevitably ends in their injury.

    I do. So your are referring to glatt. For myself I am makpid on glatt, but if someone doesn't want to be makpid, if that is their custom I have no problem with it.

    I'm not quite sure what you're reffering to, is it the studying of the beis yossef, or are you referring to glatt beis yossef (which is not relevant with poultry)?
