    Cutest Cock Ever!!

I don’t think anyone follows this anymore, but Cinder did die a few days after that post. Rosa herself just passed away a couple weeks ago.

    New batch of chicks. Breeds??

Hi y’all, I recently got a batch of chicks and some are clearly not what I ordered. Can anybody help me out on identification? I was supposed to get a buff Brahma, two black sex links, a silver laced Wyandotte, a jersey giant, a black australorp, a welsummer, and two silkies. Only one is clearly...

    Cutest Cock Ever!!

Update: Rosa and Cinder are fully grown up now. They became estranged, but Cinder still looked out for her a lot. Until recently. He has become sick and I do not think he will make it through the night. I am now reminiscing and going through some old posts.

    Strange egg masses on egg?

I have a hen who always lays eggs with calcium deposits on the top and bottom. She’s fine tho.

    Hen stopped EATING?

What could possibly cause a perfectly healthy hen to stop eating (mostly, only eats some treats) and lose weight super quickly? A few days ago she was fine but these past couple days... not so much. also, there is what appears to be an ingrown feather on her face. She’s bearded so feathers...

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

Yep. A friend of mine used to be a vet. He’s doing a lot better. When he was isolated he eventually started crowing and other rooster behaviors after about a week. We released him a couple weeks ago but he hasn’t crowed since. He has mated and growled but no crowing. I need to find a way to...

Official BYC Poll: How Long Have You Been Raising Chickens?

I started the day after my birthday in 2016. My family’s initial interest was in eggs. We got two four month old buff orpingtons, Butter and Toffee, and the next day we got a beardless Salmon Favorelle, Roasted Marshmallow (Marshmallow or Marsha for short) and a pretty blue EE, Breeze. I have...

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

Yes I already know about his eye. I think I explained a bit in my first post. He is partially blind in that eye due to a fight between him and my little bantam roo. That is all healed up. He got Cinder too and took a chunk out of one of his wattles. I also have a shot of him blinking.

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

I just realized exactly what the problem is. He has an ear infection. I cant believe I didn’t see it earlier. Idk what to do from here.

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

There are two other roosters. He was second but now he’s last. He’s not so much stumbling as he is panicking and running from stuff but the first day I noticed an issue he was staggering. He is digesting his food and it’s sure coming out the other end. I also checked his poo for anything unusual...

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

He was very active in both breeding and crowing. He currently has 2 living kids. in March he will be two. So that makes him 21 months.

Depressed Roo? NotCrowing or mating and other stuff.

A few days ago my white Yokohama started to act really weird. He started stumbling around and running away from everything but me (it used to be me he’d run from) I just realized that he hasn’t been crowing or mating. He is also partially blind in one eye. It’s an older injury. He’s not...

Mine lay occasionally. It's pretty rare though. They used to lay a lot and I think they ran themselves dry. Except for breeze she hardly ever lays In the past couple years we get maybe a dozen each. We had one that was 10 and still laid right up till she died.

There are many glitches with my post. At first, it was just the sketch and then when I tried to fix it, it became many things. So I yeah.
