    Sick Buff orpington

This information with the fact she can't walk and legs being one forward one back I'd guess EYP or water belly. A swollen, soft, or tight abdomen in a chicken often indicates ascites ( water belly), a condition caused by fluid accumulation, frequently stemming from heart or liver failure. Other...

    Mouth breathing

She's probably just hot. I live right by the Mason Dixon line 😊 her crop should be full during the day and at bedtime. I'm sure she was out and about getting bugs. I know mine were on such a beautiful day. The crop will empty over night. Usually a sign of crop issues would be a full crop in the...

    Mouth breathing

What's the temperature where you live? I'm Pennsylvania we went from 30s to almost 70 today and I had some panting chickens. I don't hear any click or congestion. So if you've had a just in temperature I'd say she's probably hot. Check her once it cools down and see if she's still breathing heavily.

Here are my girls! And some questions…

I hold and snuggle mine from day one. Bring them out, sit down with them put a little food on the ground/floor let them peck around while I interact with them. All of my birds are friendly. I can walk outside and pick up whatever one I need. Makes health checks a breeze. Some actually come by...

Sickly chicken, what is going on?

The nose blockage definitely needs addressed. @Eggcessive may be better suited than me with advice. Have you tried to remove them? Before the blockage on the nose did you notice any upper respiratory issues?

turkey with fowl pox wont eat

Are you asking how Metronidazole works? Metronidazole acts as a potent antiprotozoal agent against Histomonas meleagridis, the causative agent of blackhead disease in turkeys, by interrupting the parasite's life cycle and reducing mortality. I'm not sure what product you have in New Zealand...

turkey with fowl pox wont eat

Metronidazole dosage for turkey. Two 250mg tablets down the throat the first day, then 1 250mg tablet for the next 5 days. This is what I used to treat my turkeys. I can't find the post but this is what I have written down for dose. There was something else to use after the Metronidazole but I...

turkey with fowl pox wont eat

@casportpony tagging an educator. I've never had to deal with fowl poxs. I have had run ins with blackhead and turkeys and unfortunately that poop looks like blackhead to me. Also his behavior makes me also think blackhead. I'll search for the form I used to treat my turkeys.

    Cedar chips?

It's great for flower beds and a good pest repellent. In veggies garden I'm not sure you would probably want to research that. But it's excellent for mulching and smells nice. As @StinkyAcres said after a couple years of ageing and drying you could probably put in the the run. The smell I'd...
