    Cute as can be new babies :)

    White Leghorns, EE's, Red Stars and Red Rangers! So funny that they dyed the top of the RS's heads red so I wouldn't confuse them with the Rangers:) I laughed when I opened the box and saw these little red dots!

    This is our first time with Meat Birds and I am wondering what everyone is using to put the birds in for the freezer. Freezer bags, freezer paper? Do you mainly freeze whole, cut or a little of both? thank you all in advance!

    Balding bellies and shoulders on Cornish X

    Just to make sure this is normal. I read here that X's grow faster then their feathers and have bald spots. Mine have bald bellies and bald spots at the top of their wings. Is this normal and if not, what can I do? Thank you in advance. This is our first time with meat birds.

    Sunflower heads and seeds

    Could chickens eat the sunflower seeds right out of the flower heads or is it better for them to just eat the seeds? We are growing sunflowers for the chickens and we were wondering if they would just pick them out themselves? Thank you

    Two White Leghorns sitting! WOW

    One is on day 16 and we are so excited. Yesterday, another White Legorn started sitting on 5 of them. I have BO's, RIR, EE's, SLW and GLW and the White Leghorns are the ones that go broody!!!! Go figure:) Can't wait to post pics of the babies, hope they are successful!

    White Leghorn went Broody? Really?

    I have 2 hens that went broody yesterday and one is a White Leghorn. I thought that they did not do that? I was so surprised, just thought she was being lazy laying, but no, I got up this morning and she is still sitting on 4 eggs. Has anyone else had a Leghorn go broody? Thanks!

    EE Roosters for sale in North Alabama

    I have 6 EE Roos, 5 are black and white and one is black, they are 8 weeks old and looking for a new home! I'm only asking 5.00 each or a better deal for all. Thanks everyone, wish I could keep them all, but would rather see them rehomed then freezer camp:)

    Egg went off the scale!!!

    Egg went off the scale and measured 2.75" in length! OWIE, but I am so proud of our Tina, she did a great job. The other large one is from my GLW, but that is her regular size. Tina is a Marans/Game mix and not very big! Way to go Tina!!! Double? I'll let ya know!

    Wounded hen help please *UPDATE*

    I have about 40 week old WL that was wounded about a week ago. Not sure all that happened, but she was cut open from under her eye to her beak and she was limping when she walked. I took her out and put her in our "jail" pen and tended to her and she healed nicely. Last night we put her back...
