Tom raising a poult?
The mom was lost to a predator last night (she was free ranging). Four of the poults remain. I've managed to catch three. The tom, when let out of the coop in the morning was attracted to the poults crying. He seems to be looking after the remaining free poult. He's calling it and letting it... -
Big temperature difference between the bottom and top of my working 1202 incubator
The fan works, the temperature on the thermometer reads steady, but can tell it is much cooler at the bottom rack than where the thermometer is at the top. I have the same problem with a homemade hatcher....again, even with the fan going. I am wondering if I should heat it up to much higher at...- bardies

Almost to day 22 and NOTHING
Candling showed great promise at day 18 for 11 of the 14 eggs, and one of the questionables was alive (just less developed). I am using a hovabator that had an auto turner. I also used the 'dry incubation method'. My temps have possibly run on the low side measuring 99 to 100 (no fan). I know...- bardies
