Here are a few pics of some of the chicks right out of the egg. This is an older model still air incubator.
These were hatched Saturday morning. I already moved them to the brooder to make room.
We have an Auracana hen that routinely lays double yolk eggs. It is easy to tell them apart since they are larger than the rest.
Has anyone tried to hatch double yolk eggs? I think I will give it a try and see what happens.
This is what I received from the KY Fish and Wildlife.....
Thanks for calling. The link below will direct you to our information page on the transportation and holding of native wildlife. Here you will find basic information, the application documents, and a link to detailed regulations...
I need to build a coop and fly pen for 50 pheasants by the end of June. I looked at the quil and chicken coop designs, but I didn't see a thread for Pheasant coops. Please add pics for ideas. This is a great site.
I was going to ask the question on here to see if chickens would be poisoned if I plant castor beans near the chickens to keep moles away. I did some reading online and spoke with my mother who says that chickens won't touch the castor bean plants, but other barnyard animals might.
I plan on...
This looks like a nice friendly forum.. : )
We started with 32 chickens last spring. I will post some pics of the coop we built once I am allowed.
We have 23 more chicks coming in the spring and 50 pheasants.
