My son rescued this duck from being trampled in his cow pasture. It was all alone and can't seem to use that left foot. The leg does seem to work though. I started niacin in it's water after reading a bit.
Should I tape the foot like a baby chick?
What kind of duck do you think it is?
Thank you!
These 2 chicks were purchased from the feed store as "Gold sex-link". They are approx 5 weeks.
The chick in back looks just right but the orange one??? What is it and is it a roo?
Thanks!!!
This OE "girl" has me concerned. Looked like a pullet all along till her comb turned red.
This first picture doesn't show the color of her comb- the other 3 do. She is 9-10 weeks.
Thank you for any opinions!
Does she look like she should be laying age?
I have had her for 1 1/2 months -no eggs
I wondered if the white downy bits on her neck were signs of being still too young? Or molt?
Every year I battle powdery mildew and eventually loose my late pea crop and pumpkin vines to it. Any ideas on what to do to avoid it or better ways to beat it back?
The sprays in the store are sooo expensive that gardening isn't cost effective anymore.
I am in Utah.
THANKS!
I know it is a bit early but I am hoping to determine who will live where this week if possible. I am still on the fence on a few of them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! They are 4 weeks old.
#1 Barred rock (at hatch looked male)
#2 Barred Rock (looked female at hatch)...
After a not so great hatch of much longed for chicks I ended up with 2 of each of these breeds. I fear the Welsummers are both males. They are all 24-48 hrs old.
When picked up, they went straight to sleep. Silly chicks!
Chick #1
Chick #2
Now the Barred Rocks
Chick#3 on the left &...
Our sweet puff ball, Aunt Fanny, was an orphan we took in as we started our little flock.
She is around 6 months. The only girl not laying.
Some advice was that she was Blue Bantam Cochin possibly?
What does Bantam mean?
Thank you
No idea what breed or sex this little chick is. We think it is 4-5 weeks old???
The soft, fluffy orphan came to live with our little flock.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
The Buff Orpingtons are approx 7-8 weeks old.
#1 is quite a bit bigger than the others.
The EE are 4-5 weeks.
Thanks in advance for any help, we are new to this but really enjoying it so far.
