Hey everyone. Just wondering if there are any Fitbit users out there who would like to be friends. I've just started this week and so far so good. Can always use some more friends.
Well I just had my last hatch for the summer. The incubator is unplugged. :( My family has asked me to cool it with the hatching for the summer. How will I sleep without the hum of the fan running? 'Sigh' what to do now. Countdown to fall hatches!! Anyone else taking a summer break?
Hi everyone. I have two sebbies one about six weeks the other five. They are thriving and I'm enjoying them immensely. They are out all day eating grass (10-11 hrs) and have their little pool. Inside their house is where I keep the food (purina duck grower pellets). It's been almost a week and...
I have accumulated some feed bags and am looking to trade them for whatever you craft from them. I will probably have 2 more in another week. PM me. So far I have: 6 Layena pellets 5 Flock Raiser 1 Start & Grow NM 2 Producers Pride Scratch 2 Purina One Dog Food 1 Purina One Cat Food
I just finished my first hatch and it didn't go so well. 28 eggs made it to lockdown, 15 hatched, one died from wrong end pipped and the rest never pipped but were fully formed. My humidity was good, but I did have to play with it a bit during hatching so I'm not sure if that contributed to them...
Hello every one. I have two new sebastopol gosling approx. 1.5 wks and I think 2.5 wks. They are getting the starter crumbles and I'm giving them chopped dandelion greens. They are eating 4-5 cups a day of they greens. My concern is, is that too much and is it taking away from them eating the...
I clean my coops daily by using a big metal dust pan to scape all the poop together, then scooping it out. The more formed poop still comes up relatively easy, but the softer, patty shaped ones are now frozen mounds on the coop floor (not to mention the run). A day or two isn't bad but five days...
These two just turned 7 wks today and I'm having a hard time leaning either way on possible sex. Both combs are yellow. Anyone raise some and can share any insight, I would appreciate it. Thank you
I have a few FBCM cockerels which hatched on 10/22. I may also have some BBS Ameraucanas and one Gold Laced Brahma hatched same time that once I can ID the cockerels will also be available. They are from Taylor Hobby Farms. You can visit their website for info on them. They are being fed purina...
So I'm asking everyone again what they think about my speckled sussex. He/she is about 10 weeks old and I've already had to rehome my blue EE whom turned out to be a cockerel. I find the waiting hard, but I plan on waiting till i get an egg or a crow. Thanks for the opinions.
Well its positive, Big Momma is a he. I'll be taking him later to his new home a picking out a new pullet, "sigh" She was so pretty, now I know why. I hope you can see the video.
I only have one speckled sussex which was straight run. It is now seven weeks old and I'm still not sure about the sex. My kids have zeroed in on "speckles" as their favorite and i hope i dont have to dissappoint them. We can't keep a Roo. Thanks for your input everyone...
hi all. I just joined BYC and am new to chicken raising. I am a sahm with 3 boys, a dog and cat and just thought I'd throw some chickens in the mix because i don't have enough to do, lol. I am starting out with seven hens (fingers crossed) and am awaiting my coop this week. I have 2 barred...
