Okay... here are my two adult hens.
I am pretty sure this one (Pearl) is a barred rock... (sorry it's kinda fuzzy)
but I'm not so sure about THIS one (Blondie)... I'm thinking either buff rock or buff orpington.
Thanks!
Okay... I hope this works... haven't tried posting pics on here yet!
This is the black australian orpington pullet (hatched april 2nd) who I'm beginning to think may not be a pullet at all!
Here's a closer look at her face
For fun, this is my aracauna baby (also hatched April 2)
I'll...
UGH! My two hens had been on egg-strike for well over a month... NO eggs at all (apparently mad about a food switch). FINALLY at least one of them started laying... got about 6 eggs in two weeks. Better than nothing I thought. Well... apparently moving my two pullets out into the coop was...
So I've reintroduced my two babies to each other (they were being raised by kids in different homes) and they've joined my hens in the coop. I had to divide the coop for now as the older hens weren't too excited about sharing with the little ones.
Anyway... my chicks (now about 6weeks) are...

Is there anything that can be dangerous for chickens, or...
This one is about my hens, not my chicks. I have noticed that their "behinds" are getting a bit dirty looking, so I thought I'd inspect closer. Surprisingly, they let me walk right up and mess with their bums... sort of odd for them. Anyway... it looks like there is a couple wads of poo on...
Hi again (to those who read my chick post)... One other question on a different topic.
I have two adult hens. Got them around Halloween last year and they went right into laying regularly - about an egg every 3-4 days between the two of 'em. I originally got 3, the hens and a pullet...
Hi everyone! I'm new to this board and a new chic mommy (I already have 2 layers). Decided to add 2 new hens, and thought, heck... why not get cute baby chicks. Anyway... reading online and getting conflicting stories about how much heat/light. These guys...eek... sorry... these GALS...
