I went into lockdown yesterday morning and had placed a sponge right under the vent hole so that I could keep it wet if the humidity dropped. I had to wet it this morning, and now the paper towels that are under the eggs are wet. Is this a problem? This is my first hatch so I'm completely new...
I've had to add water to my bator everyday (at least once) in order to keep the humidity at the recommended level (I know it's different for everyone) but I'm wondering how I'm going to keep the higher level during lockdown if I can't open it up?
Any advice is appreciated.
I live in a suburban area where we actually can have chickens, as long as the coop is 20 ft away from the other houses. We have your typical backyard with a cement porch and grass area. I'd love to see coops of people with the same type of yard!
