    peculiar acting chicken

    I just started having chickens, and one of them spends most of the day avoiding the other two, and lays under a short tree with very low branches, or under the camper. Is this normal? She gets out and pecks around the yard with the others some, but stays laying in a dark place most of the day.

    I just got 3 8 week old chickens, and I am going to get 5 more tomorrow. I have been throwing feed on an old barrel top, is there something wrong with that, and do i need a feeder? and with my 8 chickens, would a 1 gallon waterer be good for the chickens? I am outside feeding and watering them...
