How long can eggs sit in the next box in this heat and still be safe to eat? I plan to be out of town and wondering- can I collect them all after a few days, or should I have someone come every day/every other day to collect? Is there a rule of thumb on this?

For good reason...a couple of weeks ago it got one of my sweet leghorns. I saw it flying away from her body. Yesterday I pulled in my driveway and it was perched high up in the tree across the street. It is still there today and now the girls are on lock down. Please tell me these hawks...
Decided to give chick-raising a try. I got 3 "red pullets" from the TSC. I actually am not sure what kind they will be, but was promised they would all be girls. Red star maybe? There were a few breeds listed on the info card, but my head was really spinning by the time I left I forget which...
