    hatch on different days

    I had 10 chicks hatch this weekend. All the eggs were placed under the hen at the same time and should have hatched Saturday. But Friday afternoon I had two chicks, added 6 more Saturday, and 2 more Sunday. I just thought it was strange for them to hatch over a three day period.

    My he quit setting her nest on Sunday. They were do to hatch today. I just put a light bulb over the eggs to try to keep them warm and see if they would hatch. One hatched last night and two more were well under way when I left for work this morning.

    Hen stopped sitting.

    Eggs should hatch Friday and she gave up yesterday. I have them under a light right now to keep them warm but not sure if it's gonna help. This is the third time I have had a hen leave a nest this year. I have hatched 103 chicks this year so I guess I shouldn't complain but it's still a pain...

    One of my hens has hatched 17 chicks. They, the hen included, or in a rabbit hutch. The chicks are now about a week old. How long should I leave the hen in with the chicks?

    New Roo

    I was recently give some more chickens. Seven hens and a rooster. I already have 16 hens and a rooster. Will it be a problem with more than one rooster. Both roosters are about 5 months old.
