My coop is finished except for painting! I used Hinkle Haus as my main inspiration and lots of ideas and pictures on byc as well. I can't build anything but my hubby and guyfriends did all the work and I provided food as bribery.
Base is cinderblocks with 2 4x6 skids then 3/4" plywood screwed...
When Art (mom is Silkie, dad EE) was a few weeks ago she would walk backwards, kinds scoot and fall over but then after a week or so she acted normal so we put her back outside. She is 10 to 11 weeks old now and up til two days ago she has been fine. She started stumbling backwards then...
I have 6 rooster chicks free to a good home. These are for breeding or pet, not for meat eating/culling. They were incubator hatched in various July dates. I'm located in Thomasville, NC. Thanks!
Saturday my 2 silkies started hatching chicks, latest one this morning. They stole eggs the past few weeks so lots of hatch dates. I've put most eggs in the incubator since most don't fit under and will stick under a hen when it pips or chirps.
I had them all together but Sunday my Barred Rock...

I've purchased a coop/run online to start with 4 chickens but would like for them to have a bigger place to play while we are home. I've been comparing making a PVC v/c wood structure online here then a co-worker suggested using my trees as a post for a natural looking run. The run will be...
Hi, I'm Crystal from NC. We live in the county in a subdivision on 1 acre with 2 kids. The only laws are the livestock has to be fenced on property under 2 acres, no HOA rules or anything. I bought a coop & run large enough to hold 4 regular size hens on ebay yesterday to start with, the fun...
