ok this may sound bizzare but is there any thing that can be done to prevent a rooster from crowing? I know that dogs can be de-barked but can a rooster be de-crowed? I have a few roos that I wanna keep but I cant keep them if the crow... HOA will not let me keep them... anyway if they dont know...

My modern game bantams..... They arent typically the best egg layers but I plan to keep them laying as long as I can to get more eggs to put in the bator.... I would really like to put 12 in for myself.

my kids have never shown any animals before (I showed rabbits but never chickens) anyway I was wondering if you guys could help us with a short list of things that should be done right before the birds are shown we already know they need a bath. and perhaps a nail trim... is they any thing else...
I am so exctied for my kids I found this on CL for free all I had to do was take it apart and reassemble it!
now this is only half of it but at least the kids can play on it and have fun till dad gets home and can help me reassemble the rest of it!

I have 2 modern game hens. they are 16 weeks old. when will they start to lay eggs? I ask because I would like to breed them to the two roosters I have for more babies! but I dont know if they are like normal chickens do they start to lay eggs around 21 weeks?
