I could use some advice. Can someone tell me where the yolks should be located in an egg when using an automatic egg turner when incubating? I candled at 3 days (couldn't help it) and all of the yolks are strictly at the fat end with no observable air cell, even if I hold it sideways...

I have 3 silkie eggs under a broody and I heard chirping in one egg at 8:00 am this morning and NO chirping or pipping since. It's 12 hrs later! Is that unusual? I am so worried it's dead! I've read that chicks pip around 6-12 hrs later (one online source said 48 hrs)...
My question: If a broody leaves her incubating eggs for 5-20 min at a time each day and the temperature of eggs decreases until she returns, why is it that temperatures are kept constant in an incubator?
Anyone have some insight? Thanks!
