I am in MI. Last year it got mighty cold and my ladies got frostbite on their crowns...okay so here's the question. They perch on rafters where air comes in under eves(for vetilation) Their coop ..a 10x16 room has straw 2 bails thick on ground. Ive made lower roosts but they like the 2"...

Update...my ladies are still alive..mMr.Roo has calmed..guess he realizes his survival relies on my care of him..lol...Still getting eggs..at least 4 a day..My ladies are warming to my touch...
I was thinking to take some of my ladies eggs and making babies .
How long do they incubate? What do I need to do?
Will my ladies take it upon themselves to "brood " is it? Is brooding when they sit on a nest to hatch young?
