I have recently hatched out a couple emu chicks about. 5 days ago and both where very healthy and vigorous. I would take them out of there own and run them around as early as day two since I know how vital it is to exercise there new developing leg muscles. Well just today I noticed that one of...
Hi everyone! It has been awhile since I have been on this blog, but I just wanted to drop by and bring you all along with me on my third Journey of hatching emus.
Last year's clutch didn't hatch so I'm hoping I have better luck this year.
I once again was generously offered more emu eggs...
So I've heard emus aren't picky eaters, (mine are lol). When I was feeding them non medicated chick starter, and was trying to ween them on to Ratite starter, it took them a full TWO weeks to fully accept the feed. Well any way. I just wanted to know if it is safe to feed my emus adult turkey...
I will be hatching red golden pheasant eggs soon. And have doing a lot of research on red goldens. I was a little surprised it takes a full 2 years for the males to come into color. Is it true it takes that long? Does anyone have a photo of a male that is just 1. Year old?
Thanks so much for...

I have started incubating a fertile Emu egg, (it weighs 630 grams). And will probably get three more next week. I'm incubating it with a fan incubator at 97.2-8. degrees, and 36 percent humidity, and rotating every 8 hours back and forth. Does anyone have any tips for better emu hatching rates?
Today I was given a free fertile emu egg too hatch, (The male emu has not shown any signs of wanting too hatch the eggs) and will hopefully get maybe three more from the same person next week. SUPER excited bout incubating it. Am about too incubate it at 97.5 degrees, at 33 present humidity...
