About a month ago, our duck seemed to have a broken leg. She couldn't walk at all, and it was very definitely one leg that was hurting. Although, we couldn't find a specific break or injury. Duck ate a rat?!?!
We have been having a problem with rats in our duck yard. Just now my muscovy caught and ate one! Is she going to be okay? She swallowed it whole! She was walking around with it hanging from her beak, and we were going to take it away, but then... gulp. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? -
Eggs
We have one female muscovy, who is laying eggs. Our neighbour said that we always need to leave one of the eggs in her nest, so that she'll keep laying. Is that true? Today she left her egg in a different spot, and she doesn't sit on them anyway. Can we just collect the egg each morning? -
Ducks laying eggs
What do I need to know about keeping ducks for eggs? Really, I know nothing. We were so excited when our Muscovy started laying! She gave us 9 eggs, and now that appears to be all. I kind of thought that once she started, we'd be getting eggs for a while. No? -

Duckling can't walk
We have three baby ducks, about two weeks old. One of them can't walk today. We can't see any injury, and we don't know of any way it could have been hurt. They're in a cage inside our house. So sad to see it flopping around. It's still eating and drinking and seems healthy otherwise, though... -
