I've read the threads here on treating bumble foot with tricide neo. One question I have and didn't see it addressed. Is there an egg withdrawal needed?
TIA
I grew fodder yrs ago with my first flock and now want to grow for thwse girls over the winter. I have been experimenting with all whole seed scratch from Nature Crest. We also now live in Northern Ga.
Twice now as soon as it starts to sprout, fuzzies start. I have it indoors, however we do have...
This Partridge Rock girl is almost 20 wks. I noticed weeks ago that she carried her tail down all the time.she is clear of all diseases, eats, drinks, poops and acts completely normal. She's not depressed and is acti e in the flock.
Last week I examed her and that fluffy area in the higher tail...
Anyone in the SouthEast use this line of feed? Thoughts/experiences.
Only down side for me is my wheat allergy when handling...but I am willing to risk if it's worth it.

My girls (mixed flock of GLW, PartridgeRocks and Buckeyes) are approx 14.5 wks. They are of course molting and getting their big girl feathering. I noticed one of the Buckeyes is developing obvious iridescent feathering around neck (collar)..is this possible with hens? Or do I have a cockerel in...
So I am a big sand fan for run and coop. With the move from north to south, I have discovered I am not a fan of sand alone on mains coop floor. I still have it under roost and in run. I started tossing straw down on main floor of coop....over the existing sand. The girls love it. Did I just...

I realize this is a subject that has been beaten and battered over the years..previously when we were in the NE we had sand (construction) in both coop and run. Loved it.
is putting sand down on red clay in run a no no? It will only be half rooved. I just feel wood chips is messy and smelly...
This is what we are using for the run. It will have welded wireburied and up the sides probably 4 ft. The kit comes with coated chicken wire, so that will be over the whole run. Eventually we will have partial metal roof.
I am concerned with predators climbing and eating through. Area has...
Hi Y'all,
We were chicken less for years. Now in northern Ga and prepping chicken coop n run.
We very successfully used sand up north in coop and Run. Run was partially metal roofed...we eventually plan to do same partial roof on this set up.
Will sand be too hot in the mean time? Half the roof...
