Do bantams hatch more deformed chicks than standard breeds. I'm hatching banties for the first time and getting problem chicks about one out of six. These are all breed pure and not sibling parents as far as I know. Just wondering if bantams have more problems?
Has anyone bred bantams to make a meat bird type chicken. I've raised cornish x rocks before but with space limitations this idea has sparked my interest. ?.
One of my bantams is going broody for the first time. In the morning she leaves the nest for over a half hour. Is this okay or typical behavior? I would like to have her hatch some eggs and she is the only one of any of my hens that has shown any interest in sitting. Thanks for any input.
