    Young hen stopped laying

I've read some of the other threads on hens who quit laying, but have a somewhat unique situation. I am new to chicken keeping, so if this is something obvious, I apologize. I have an Ameraucana that will be one year old on May 22nd. She is my only hen laying blue eggs, so I know I get one egg...

    Wyandottes... hens or roos?

Ok, guys, LAST POST... I promise. Three 5 week old Wyandottes... the Silver Laced is acting a little like a roo, but no sign of a comb yet. The Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (sorry for the typo on those, but BLRW #2) is also acting like a roo and has a larger comb than the other BLRW. Any thoughts...

Barred Plymouth Rocks... hens or roos?

5 Week old Barred Rocks that I purchased straight run. What do you think? The one with more white ( and yellow legs) may have a slightly larger comb. It is also a little more feisty compared to the darker one ( with black on legs) who jumps up onto my lap and lays down all the time.

The Silver Laced Polish ("SLP #1") is extremely feisty and carries his tail like that constantly. He has a larger top notch than the other Polish and many more/larger tail feathers...

    Ameraucana chicks... hens or roos?

I have three 5 week old Ameraucana chicks that I purchased straight run. I'm interested in seeing if you can guess whether I have hens or roos. They are all docile except "Ameraucana #1". I suspect that one is a roo because of the way he carries himself and he is always kicking the other chicks...

    Feathering on pullets v cockerels?

Aloha everyone, I'm new to the forum and am currently raising my first batch of chicks. They are just over 2 weeks old and I have several breeds. I am noticing that some have very long tail feathers and some (of the same breed even) have no tail feathers. At this age, is it true that pullets...
