Okay, so I gotta ask.
Am I the only crazy chicken person who can't resist looking at the new chicks, despite having too many chickens already?
And who then has to pick off pasty butt on those chicks?
Today I was at the feed store during lunch and noticed a couple of chicks were pasted up. So I...
Okay, I know I should have investigated further before taking the plunge and I was going to buy 2 ducks, but ended up getting a duckling and goose in April. They were raised together and are best buds.
BUT- I had caught the goose/gander on top of the duck in their pool once last month and...
Okay, so I have a single goose about 5 months old raised with a duck.
Goose is still a love and sometimes I run around the yard playing with him/her. He really likes it when I put my arms out and flap them - he then will take his turn chasing me while flapping.
It just occurred to me that I...
I adore Seramas and have managed to hatch out 3 - 2 roos and a pullet.
Several of my friends' kids have gotten excited about this breed and want to raise them for 4H next year.
I was wondering if anyone knows about breeders or sellers that have Seramas in Califorina. The ones I have I...
Okay, so I'm a newish mommy to a young goose, duck, and a bunch of 10 week old chicks.
My duck and goose are outside in my backyard but the chicks are still inside. Ugh.
I was wondering - should I bring my goose and duck in on Saturday so they don't get freaked out by the fireworks going off...
So I hatched my first eggs about 6 weeks ago, and unfortunately I have a bunch of roos. I'm not allowed roos since I'm within city limits; although somebody a few blocks over has some. But alas, I have a nasty neighbor who wouldn't hesitate to call about my having a roo, although she doesn't...
Anybody see this?

I love animals, but if the dog owners had just followed the law and kept their pet on his lease, this wouldn't have happened.
Why can't humans be responsible?!?
I'm interested in hatching a couple of Sebs for a friend of mine, but don't have any idea where to get eggs. I want to hatch them for her so they will imprint her, rather than being standoffish like some of the shipped goslings can be.
Can some of you share where you got yours?
Thanks everyone.
So I had my first successful hatching of 14 chicks on May 14-16th.
I have them in a large dog crate for brooding.
I have held them a few times but they kinda freak out and run away when I open the cage.
I did have my gosling and duckling in the same bathroom with them, and just moved the...
I am in the process of my first hatch. So far, I have a dozen wonderful chicks hatched.
I still have another 12 in the incubator. The new chickies were getting too frisky - they cracked two eggs that hadn't pipped yet & so I've lost two almost pipped eggs. *Sigh*
