Found nest - is it too late
We went out of town for Christmas break and our duck sitter missed a egg laying spot for one of my Cayuga hens. I just got home to 14 eggs in a perfect nest with feathers and all... We usually collect eggs everyday to eat but I never take eggs if the hens get broody and that's what it looks... -
Hatch success!!
My sweet scovy momma killed all her hatchlings earlier this year. She's a good brooder and super attentive to the eggs but killed everyone of the babies as they hatched. I reluctantly let her sit on another clutch and today she came out from under the shed with 8 babies (of 9 eggs). Super happy...
