I got some eggs from a friend. Mom is def a silkie. Dad could be silkie or another unknown breed. The eggs hatched. All have black skin and feathered feet. They are 1 week and developing wing feathers. (Not visible in pic) Does that mean they are a mix?
I had 4 silkies hatch yesterday. 3 were fully dry. While the 4th was hatching the others were pecking it in the face so I took the dry babies out and put them in a canvas tote under a heat lamp. They were all huddled together so I lowered the lamp. I put the kids to bed and came down to the...
I have an Ameracauna, or I presume, Easter Egg rooster. I have a variety of hens but have only been collecting the eggs from my Black Copper Marans. What are my chances of getting Olive Eggers? My rooster has to carry the blue egg gene right? Are there any physical characteristics to look for...
Got these today, no idea on age or breed. I have 2 females, and 1 male. No clue on breed! The females have a few white spots in their wings. And the male some copper on his neck and chest. None have feathered feet. Thr females do have puffy cheeks.

2 hatched fri night. I gave the 3rd til today. With no peeps or pips i carefully...

I have 4 that sound like they have bronchitis. 2 are from my existing flock, and 2...
