So yesterday she was attacked by a pit. It for her skin right off on her leg into her belly. Anyway, I do smell a rank...

So I was sitting in my house when my 8yo came running in and said the chickens are dead. So I ran out and found the dog attacking one of my hens. We thought one was eaten, but we found her. The one injured had all its feathers and skin taken off on her left leg and on her belly. I have cleaned...

So during the storms here in Texas my favorite rooster died. :(

We technically he was mine anyone. Where we are we can't have roosters, so we gave to a friend further out than us. Anyway, he didn't have cell service or electricity for a couple days. I finally heard from his today and our little omelette drowned or was sufficated when his chickens huddled up...

Here is a question regarding comb colors and roosters vs pullets.

Are all rooster combs pink or red? Or is it different from breed to breed? I have some seven week olds outside and haven't noticed red or pink combs forming. My golden sex link is yellow comb and my Moran, Dominique and barred rock are all dark blackish. Thanks :)

My coop doesn't have a real floor it just sits right on the floor. So how do I clean it?

So I have chicken wire on the bottom so that predators won't crawl under it. However if I put a tarp on top of that and then shavings would that work? That way I can take the tarp out clean it and sanitize it. Anyway would that work?
