Is it common for egg production to drop when new pullets are introduced to the flock and at the same time I got rid of the dominant hen. I was getting 11 or 12 a week out of my two hens. the same day I introduced 8 pullets I sold my dominant hen. Last week got 7 eggs and this week 5. Is this normal?
A lady sitting in a parking lot on the side of the road had these two pullets and about 100 foot of chickenwire. I told her I only had 10 bucks and she gave me all of it. Apparently she was a pothead and on a whim decided she wanted chickens and wanted to name them "waffles" and " pancakes"...

These are the 3 I'm worried may not be pullets. It wouldn't be that big of a deal but I'm not supposed to have chickens in my neighborhood and I cant have a cockerel learning how to crow at 4am. I have to get rid of them as soon and I am pretty certain.
1 more quick question. This is my first time with chicks. I live near Atlanta,ga. The temps right now are highs in the upper 70's to 80 and lows in the mid 40's. I just moved these chicks to a little coop / run out of the garage. They are 7-8 weeks old. Do they still need a heat lamp at night...
