Trying to figure out what this girl is and I'm realizing that a lot of my confusion is her comb. Doesn't look like my dominique or amercauna combs. She seems slightly smaller than the others but not by much if so. Lays light tan eggs with pale white flecks.
Hatch date 8/20 (almost 9 weeks), all the same turken. The frizzles are one of each so I've been using those for comparison but I'm stumped. Cheeks turn red when excited and are pale otherwise.
I have a black star x partridge cochin that I need help with. it's crossed so I know that the mother's sex-link coloring doesn't mean that it's female but I would think that it would have a lot more by now. He/she hatched the end of june so it's about 2 months old.
Has anyone ever crossed a small bird (similar to a belgian) with an araucana to produce a bantam easter egger? And how many generations would you need to breed before it is considered an easter egger?
My hen was taken by a fox a few nights ago and now I'm needing to find another one before all of my chicks are sold and my rooster is left all alone. He used to follow my hen like a shadow and goes crazy whenever he cant find her. If anyone knows of where I can find another black cochin bantam...
I have 5, month old bantam cochinxsilkie chicks that need a home. 3 we're taken and returned and now the mother will not care for them but are very friendly. The other two have been with the mother since hatching and are not as friendly. They're very oddly colored and even the black chick has...

I have chicks from a silkie and cochin and the colors are not at all what I expected. Only 2/8 were black and the rest are completely random. Anyone have any idea what these chicks will grow up to look like? Also, I have one chick that seems to be a rooster already, any opinions on that...
I've heard that leg color of chicks can determine their gender. I have 7 three week old chicks, 2 that are growing combs and appear to be roosters. Their parents are a full breed white silkie rooster and their mom is a black cochin whose mother and siblings looked like her but father was a tan...
All of my chicks were females when I first feather checked them and have had their wings growing in very quickly and at the exact same rate. But now it appears that I have 2 roosters(one pictured, the other has a little taller comb but is only pink at the bottom). They're all silkiexcochin so...
I have two rosters that have recently got into a fight. Both have black spots on comb, tho One of them is worse off than the other with a wounded eye, that seemed to have some blood in it yesturday. I waved my hand in front of his bad eye to check his vision tho he didn't move at all ( eyeball...
I know this post probably doesn't belong here but I didn't know where else to put it. Anyways, I have a few week old chicks that already have a lot of wing feathers growing in in odd colors. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what color they will become. Their parents are black...
I'm wanting to buy this frizzle but I cant tell if its a hen or rooster. The person is sending me a better picture later so I'll have one that will be easier to see soon. But can anyone tell for sure from this picture? It's about two months old.
My silkie x bantam cochin chicks hatched just a week ago and out of black and white parents, I've ended up with 6 yellow and 2 black. My problem though is that all the chicks have the father's 5 toes but are also all quickly growing wing feathers so I don't know what breed they will turn into...
