    Farm Innovators 4200 Inconsistent Temps

I am losing my mind, and sleep! I'm at day 17 and in the past few days the temperature keeps going all over the place. I have not moved the incubator and only open it to candle on days 4, 10 and 14 so far, and to occasionally add a little water. They are supposed to go into lockdown tomorrow...

EE rooster - will babies lay colored eggs?

A friend of mine gave me a nice mixture of eggs from her flock. There are some speckled sussex, lavender orpington, red sexlink, silkies and brahmas. The only rooster she has is an easter egger. Will the females of this mixture also lay colored eggs?

Week old chicks have thumbs curled under their feet. Sore and bleeding.

I hatched 9 eggs in my incubator that were from my own chickens. Of the 9, two are splay-legged. I tried the bandaid splint for two days, and switched this morning to a small piece of a drinking straw with a rubberband through it. The rubberband is working great! Pippin ain't easy! Day 23 and nothing is happening.

Today is day 23, and nothing is happening. I took the eggs out and candled them, and all of them are still moving and have nice veins. What would make them take so long? I raised the humidity to 65% 5 days ago and now I'm worried that will cause problems.

One 4 days ago, one 2 days ago, and all others have quit besides this one. The egg has been twitching...

Day old chick not really standing or eating. Advice Please!!!!

My chick had to be helped out of it's shell after a day and a half of being stuck in the membrane. When it finally came out, the umbilical cord was still attached and full of blood. I tried to leave it, but each time the chick moved, it was tearing it's belly from the weight of the shell and...

Umbilical cord still attached and pulling!

This chick had a hard time hatching, and had to be helped out because it was stuck in the membrane. Now it's got a wet, red cord or vein still attached and when it moves, it pulls on the chick. Am I safe to assume this will just dry up and fall off on it's own?
