I've read alot about layers molting so I'm all prepared for that to happen. But do roosters molt as well?
Poor Rudy is missing his beautiful tail feathers. He will do a shake- shake and feathers fly around him.
Is this normal? Or is it something missing in his diet? He seems to feel fine...
I recently read that a rooster in good health can live for 15 to 20 years and a chicken for 8-12 years. I had no idea they were that long lived! Can this be true?
I'm sure for a chicken they wouldn't be laying all that time but this seems like an excessive estimate even barring anything...
