    I've read some people firmly against sawdust in the chicken yard, has anyone had problems with it?

    We use sawdust from the wood we cut for firewood (Spruce,Hemlock,Birch) to keep the chicken yard covered. Sometimes, we put straw in the coop, but for the outside run, we put mostly sawdust. Has anyone had problems with this? My chickens seem fine, but my experience is limited... None are...

    I saw feather-footed chickens and was charmed by them. Good for cold climates?

    I saw some Buff Brahma chickens in a catalog, and thought they were adorable. They looked like they were wearing snow boots. Has anyone raised these? Are they cold hardy? Do they lay well? The catalog seemed to have the same opinion about every hen, so I wanted to hear from someone who has them.
