We have concluded our one year old Light Brahma rooster is over breeding our 6 hens, so have decided to get rid of him. We live near Champaign, IL. Any takers? We'd rather not see him be butchered, he's very protective of the flock.
My wife noticed 3 of our hens, a buff and 2 barred rocks are loosing feathers on their back, just behind where their neck meets the main body, if you can imagine the part of their back that is sort of horizontal when they are walking, near the neck though. Inspected one of them and got this...
We have a flock of 6 hens and a rooster, 2 light brahma's, 1 hen, 1 rooster. The hen has a nasty looking butt. When I went out to take a picture, she pooped, so pic of it too. None of the others have this issue.
New to the forum, new to chickens for that matter. We have 8 hens, 3 barred rocks, 3 buff orpingtons, 2 white bramas and a white brama rooster. Rec'd the chicks 4/27 and have had a great experience so far.
Hi, we have a flock of 9 hens and one rooster, the white brama rooster has recently started loosing his neck feathers. We inspected and see parasites. Could this be molting? I do see new feathers starting in this area. Any thoughts?
