very inflammed and swollen no egg seen but she is not eating or drinking
and she is dead weight.. trying to keep her warm. what does she have and is it...
I have 2 chickens out of 7 that have redness under their feathers near their butt. One has redness on top. What kind of ointment would work well in reducing the swelling and the redness?
Would calendula or neem and lavender work or manuka honey or aloe. I have tried the honey not working.
Found one of my pullets has a gaping wound about 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep and 3 inches long. Looks like a gash. Not sure how it happened as she was in
the barn coup and then some of the flock pecked at it because it was bloody but because I didn't notice it right away, it looks like it...
i have a hen that looks like vent gleet and prolapse. Hen is laying. Can you give me some treatment
protocols and can I get this a tractor supply only poultry store here.
I read that we should separate our rooster (now one year old) and that we can mix feather fixer
feed in with their layer feed. How much of that should we mix in with the feed? about one cup or
more?
The feathers my girls are all plucked out on top of their backs. I wish I had known how to fix...
We rigged a nest box in our coop/barn and had it elevated on tires so it was not on the floor and not
thinking that they would crouch under there they did and found 4 dozen eggs, old and dirty. I cleaned
them off but I don't think they are good to eat now. (samonella?) and we can't candle them...

A LARGE AMOUNT (HANDFUL) MISING FROM THEIR BACKS WITH SKIN EXPOSED. iS THE ROOSTER

this morning found the entire egg shell gone but the yolk intact laying in nest box.
I had taken the wooden ones out cause found hen laying on the wooden one. But I wonder
if I had been wrong in giving the pullets egg shells (crushed) maybe not crushed enough? (1/4")
the eggshells was nowhere to...
We live in Maine and sometimes we get a lot of snow. Right now just have a very small coop of 5
pullets. My husband wants to move them in our barn if it gets really cold. What are some things we
can to to prevent them from any weather related problems? Should we move them?
When I put a snack out. This smallest pullet (lowest on peck order I suppose) always stays back in
the roost while all the other pullets and the cockerel eats from the bowl of oatmeal.
She seems to eat from the feed but is the smallest of them all and does not seem to be growing
much. She is...
new to this. I have found poop in the nesting boxes. When I went in the morn they were all on the roost. Sometimes we have seen them in the nesting boxes. Any suggestion to eliminate poop getting in the nesting boxes. They have not started laying yet but it will be soon (prrobably 2 weeks)...
