    Genders

These are mixed breeds we hatched ourselves. Hatched around April 21 so I'm hoping they're big enough to tell gender. I'm pretty confident on a few of them but wanted some outside thoughts. I tried my best to get good pictures, I can always attempt to get more if needed (although hopefully not...

    Roo or hen?

I thought this was a hen but now I'm questioning. It's about 3 months old (1/11/21). Mixed breed- based on coloring probably from our Columbian Wyandotte hen and our Whiting True Blue mixed roo

    Barnyard mix roos?

We hatched our own mixes on January 11th this year. I'm pretty sure these are all roosters but wanted a 2nd opinion. If it makes a difference hens were our ISA Browns (possibly a Columbian Wyandotte). And we have 2 roosters, one is a Whiting True Blue and the other is a Whiting True Blue/White...

Silkie mixes need new home in NC

3 Silkie/Barred rock mixes need a new home for free! The one with brown feathers on it's neck is for sure a roo, at least 1 other is also crowing, we're unsure about the 3rd but I'm 90% sure it's a hen. Hatched early May of this year. Located in NC, near Raleigh

    Help with Welsummer identification

We recently acquired some new pullets for our flock, 6 of them being Welsummers. We didn't realize how similar they looked to some of our Whiting True Blues and now that we have them all mixed together it's hard to tell them apart. Does anyone have a sure way to differentiate them? We're unsure...

    What gender is my Whiting?

We ordered Whiting True Blues from McMurray, born about mid-April. Supposedly all hens but this particular one has always been significantly bigger than the others. I've also seen it start to mount other older chickens in our flock. Either it's a very confident female or an oops roo! Hopefully...

    Newbie here!

Hello, new member :) My husband and I (and our 2 little boys) just became the proud owners of 34 chickens back in March. We have a mixture of Production Reds from Tractor Supply, an Easter Egger rooster, Ameraucanas, Whiting True Blues, and 1 Partridge Cochin. My bestie referred me to this site...
