Have 3 hens. 2 of them Rhode Island Reds are losing feathers off the back by the tail leaving bare spot the size of a navel orange. One of them also losing feathers between legs and business area.
Don't semm to have predators now but did have a rat of 2 and they're RIP.
I was frying eggs sunny side up, and two of the four egg whites exploded! Really made a mess - went onto the floor, all over the stove, etc. Thankfully no one was right there to get it in their eyes.
Is there something wrong with the eggs, or is there something I can do to prevent this...
She was laying regular shaped eggs, then started laying football shaped eggs - long and narrow like a football, and then one regular egg, and now no eggs for 2 weeks. She doesn't act sick, eats and drinks just fine, and walks around OK. I'm just wondering what could be wrong?
