Last year, I decided to try hatching my own eggs. I was expecting a rooster, but definitely not 3. So now I'm looking for someone in the central florida area who is looking to take in a roo. They're all mixed breeds from the same father (black orpington mix) who has since passed away. I grew...
This morning when I went to check on the chickens, I saw one of my RIR's who was basically sleeping on the roost with her head almost dangling towards the ground, like she couldn't keep her head up.
I grabbed her and looked her over, and it seems like she had something go with her egg. I didn't...

Yesterday I noticed an odd smell coming from my rooster, i decided to keep an eye on him from a distance and he's been shaking his head and doing that yawning thing that sick chickens usually do. I decided to wait on it, but I'm getting more concerned by the minute... I'm going to separate him...
I've heard from some people that you can put dewormer in a peice of bread instead of injecting it into their mouths. Will this work or will it lower the effectiveness of the dewormer? I'm using safeguard plus btw, haven't bought it yet so I'm still unsure about how to use it.
Raised this big guy from a week old chick. He was fully black, even as he started to mature, but one day, he started growing gold feathers. He also had one green spot on his brown eyes, which has now turned golden yellow as he matured. And he's REALLY heavy. Now he's about a year and a half old...

I noticed something was off with my rooster, noticeably the red marks on his legs and dry-looking scales. I suspected scaly leg mites, so I treated him with a salve. That seemed to improve his scales, but the redness was still there. So, I gave him an Epsom salt bath in the kitchen sink, and...
About a month ago I bought 2 male mini pigs from a farmer in my area and I've been frustrated ever since. I'm looking for help because I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep them, but I want to be sure that I've done everything I can do before giving up on them. At first, I kept them inside...
My hen is healing up after being attacked by a hawk, and I think that by keeping her inside, I've given her my cold. I checked on her this morning and she was making small wheezing sounds, which she had never done before. Can anyone suggest some antibiotics (that are safe for laying hens) that I...
My chicken got attacked and her wing is injured. I'm waiting for my friend to get here to help her get fully cleaned up but I've wiped off some of the blood and I'm pretty sure it's clotted by now. She seems to be okay but her wing is hanging really low so I think it might be broken or...
