DISCLAIMER, I know, I'm sorry this is a platform for backyard chickens, but I'm in a goat crisis! I've heard bad things about straw and shavings to use as bedding for my goats, saying that they'll eat it and bloat. What do you use? Should I keep them on dirt or put down some other type of bedding?
The chickens are sitting happy right now! I'm getting more eggs than I can handle, and I have sold some of my eggs in the past to a few people around who wanted more fresh, natural eggs. However, my chickens have been laying a lot lately, and I don't want my eggs to go bad! Does anybody have any...
My rooster and I have daily stand offs, when I walk into the coop, he comes running after me, often attacking my feet and legs, I know that this is inky normal behavior of a rooster, but wondering how I could develop a better relationship with him.
Lately I have noticed that a few of the hens in my flock have pale, discolored combs, some even a bit floppy, and I'm concerned whether this is a sign of their bad health, or it's just because they're going through molting. Does anyone know whether or not this is okay? Thanks.
